MORE ON ELECTRIC RATES
Every month, an electricity bill includes two types of charges.
The default for supply is a fixed rate, but Com Edison offers a rate that varies based on the time of the day, called Hourly Use Rate (learn more here). This rate is cheaper when its is cheaper to produce electricity, such as when the sun is out and there are more renewables helping generate electricity.
Public Grid calculates whether or not you would have saved money on your electric bills if you would have switched to this time of use rate opposed to being on the fixed monthly rate.
